MonKey application focuses on revolutionizing the spending pattern of U.A.E residents, by optimizing their credit card usage, and amongst other factors enabling them to earn linked benefits. The core purpose of the application is to use geo-positioning to identify deals and discounts in a user’s proximity, based on the cards in their respective wallets. The app functions in the following manner:


1. A first time user is directed to the first screen wherein he / she is given the option to add credit/debit cards to his / her "wallet" wherein wallet simply refers to the user profile in the app.

2. The user then gets the option to select the credit/debit cards for which he / she wants to be updated regarding nearby deals and discounts. The app does not require any credit card details (e.g. card number, expiry etc.) and the choice of product suffices the requirement for the app.

3. A first time user is asked to turn activate location services to enable the app to locate deals / discounts marked in his / her proximity. Location services are urged to be kept activated to ensure that any change is user location is tracked so as to update all nearby deals and further provide a notification for the same.

4. The user is then asked to create a user name and password and submit basic information like Full Name, Date of Birth, and Income (optional) to complete his / her profile.

5. Once the profile is created, the user is given the option to choose the categories for which he / she wants to allow push notifications.

6. The user is then directed to the homepage, which at default setting, shows the nearby deals and discounts on his / her chosen cards under the "Dining" category.

7. The user has the option on the Swipe menu bar on the right side of the screen to choose between 7 categories (genre of discount).

8. A user can click on a deal / discount appearing on the home page to get further details and / or contact details of the outlet.

9. The deal / discount page also allows the user to be redirected to the outlet website, make a call on the outlet number or be routed to the outlet using Google maps.

10. The icon on the bottom right allows the app to sort the available deals / discounts as per proximity (nearest deals in ascending order).

11. The button on the top right allows the user to update their wallet and change their notification settings.

12. The search bar allows the user to search for a particular outlet.

Product Comparison section allows a user to sift through available retail banking products in U.A.E, whilst customizing his / her search as per individual requirements. Based on the comparison result, a user can also send a referral to the respective bank for any product he / she wishes to avail.

Branch / ATM locator section allows a user to search for his / her nearest branch / ATM of a bank of choice. The app uses location services for this section – mapping the user’s existing location with the app’s database of branch / ATM location coordinates and generating search results as per proximity.

The expense manager section allows a user to store data of his / her income and expenditure habits against the account created in the app database. This allows the user to evaluate daily, weekly and monthly spending patterns, and further download his / her stored data in PDF or Excel format. The data is maintained as confidential against each user’s account (not accessible to a different user on the same device) and further retained against the user’s account on the server for a period of 180 days.
